That first event in 1929 was supported by the Anderson Kiwanis, then moved to Beulah Park in 1930, where the Alexandria Kiwanis took the reins, hosting amid economic hardship. By 1948, they purchased five acres east of the park, constructing all eight buildings that now host the fair, along with playgrounds, lighting, and park improvements. A polio outbreak canceled the 1949 fair, but it roared back stronger, evolving into a cornerstone of youth development.
