Indiana Heritage Quilt Show ## About the Event The Indiana Heritage Quilt Show is a beloved celebration of fiber arts that draws thousands of visitors each year to Bloomington. The show features more than 200 stunning quilts on display, from traditional pieced designs to innovative contemporary art quilts. Beyond the displays, the event brings together nationally recognized instructors, a vibrant vendor marketplace, and special traveling exhibits that celebrate the rich heritage of American quilting. ## Activities & Attractions The show offers a diverse range of experiences for visitors. Browse the impressive quilt displays representing eight different categories, including appliquéd quilts, pieced designs, modern interpretations, art innovations, and a special challenge category featuring quilts created based on songs. Young quilters also have a dedicated category to showcase their emerging talents. Expand your skills by registering for workshops led by award-winning instructors including Sue Cortese, Dorie Hruska, MJ Kinman, Chris Lynn Kirsch, and Heather Kojan. These half-day and full-day classes cover techniques ranging from Shibori with indigo dye to basic fabric dyeing, offering hands-on learning opportunities at various skill levels. The vendor marketplace is a paradise for quilting enthusiasts, featuring hundreds of fabrics, threads, notions, and sewing accessories from vendors throughout the Midwest. Special traveling exhibits and quilt-related off-site exhibits round out the experience, providing inspiration and education throughout the weekend. A concession stand offers food and refreshments, and raffle quilts add an element of fun and excitement. ## Schedule & Logistics The show runs Thursday, March 5 through Saturday, March 7, 2026. Hours are 9am to 5pm on Thursday and Friday, with Saturday hours from 9am to 4pm. Admission is affordable: adults pay $10 daily or $20 for a three-day pass, children ages 7–12 are $2, and children 6 and under enter free. The venue accepts all major credit cards for your convenience. The Bloomington Convention Center is located at 302 South College Avenue in Bloomington, Indiana 47403, just a couple of blocks south of downtown Bloomington's historic courthouse square. Parking is free, making it easy and affordable to visit. The convention center is conveniently accessible and visitor-friendly. ## Featured Artist & Special Programming The 2026 show celebrates MJ Kinman as its featured artist, known for her stunning large gem quilts. MJ is also teaching two workshops during the show, giving attendees the opportunity to learn directly from a master quilter. The year's special challenge invites quilters to create 30" x 30" quilts inspired by songs—a creative and unique category that celebrates the intersection of music and fiber arts. The show also includes special recognition awards determined by show attendees' votes (Viewer's Choice), the Mayor of Bloomington (Mayor's Choice), the Monroe County Commissioner (Commissioner's Choice), and a Hoosier Award honoring Indiana-made quilts.
